Hi, I'm Tyler Sherard, and this is my story.

I first met Pastor Tommy Pinkerton in 2007 when he was the youth pastor of LIT (Life in Transition) in Baltimore, Maryland. I was 13 years old and had already put myself in a place where my life was at an extreme low. Pastor Tommy helped guide me back to God's path for my life, showed me genuine love, treated me like a son, sowed into my life, and filled me with life changing wisdom. He still does to this day.

For a time, Tommy and I fell out of contact. I'd see him every once in a while when he would visit Baltimore to preach. One day I received a text from him, simply asking how I was doing. Not long after, we had an extensive phone conversation. He shared with me dreams that he had of launching a church. I was interested, but I didn't think he would speak these words: “and I want you to be a part of it.” I was 20 at the time and didn't even have the slightest thought of moving or being anywhere else other than in Baltimore. However, we continued to talk. He shared more ideas and dreams with me. Then finally, I decided to move to Georgia. I was fearful; I was hesitant. However, I knew God had something great planned if I took this leap of faith. So I saved up $3,000, quit my job, packed my things, and left Baltimore.

It wasn't easy; it came with its struggles. I had to give up a lot, but God provided and has blessed me for my sacrifices more than I ever imagined. Two years later, here I am. I've been able to successfully pursue a career as a full-time musician, I've become a part of a family away from home that treats me like genuine blood family, and I am a leader and part of something that truly is EPIC.

I'm excited for this new year and what God is doing with EPIC.
