We are the Torres family, and this is our story.

Frank and I have known Pastor Tommy and Nannette Pinkerton for nearly 15 years. We met them as our youth pastors while in high school. During the early years of our friendship, Tommy and Nannette set an example for us of a marriage built on God as a foundation and showed us what it meant to live a life dedicated to God and His call on our lives. Tommy has acted as mentor for Frank and I throughout the time we have known him, and we have each felt called to work with him in ministry for many years.

As we prayed about our future, we felt called to Georgia to help the Pinkertons launch EPIC. Frank and I have a desire to show this broken world the love and healing we have found in Christ. While we waited for God to open right the doors for us to move to Georgia, we served in Bakersfield, California, at New Covenant Church in the Children’s ministry department.

In 2015, our daughter, Scarlett, was born. We knew it was the right time for us to make our move. Just before our daughter turned one, we put our house on the market and began our transition. In June 2016, we left our home and families in Bakersfield, California, and moved to Winder, Georgia. This experience has been one of the hardest we have encountered as a family, but we have seen God move each step of the way and have felt His presence. He continues to guide us and bring wisdom as we press forward in our walk with Him. We know that God has called us here for such a time as this. (Esther 4:14)
